Where and how do we find subjects for our photography? When I walk to the supermarket I constantly look around me, Maybe I will see something special, beautiful, or strange. Sometimes I take my camera and just wander through the city. But it's to hard to find subjects in Amsterdam, at least, the kind of subjects I like to capture.

I sometimes think I am to much preoccupied with a certain type of subject. Metal surfaces, old wood, interesting stone, they are becomming a habbit.

I want to find poetry in the world arround me.

I would like to ask my friends here on DA how they go about finding their subjects. I am grateful for all comments.

Cheers, a toast to all my friends.

Sometimes I have a preconceived notion of what I want to do, but most of the time I see something and like someone said before, it feels right.

Once I get something, it's all about shapes, patterns, repetition, colour, subject, movement, and balance. Then the photograph becomes a harmony of all or some of these elements. The mixture would be influenced by everything that has happend to me in my life up until that point.
